Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist-Rear (BCA-R) uses rear radar sensors to help you avoid collisions and stay safe on the road. It continually scans your blind spots and will alert you if it detects any danger. If the driver moves towards a vehicle and potentially into a collision, BCA-R will first flash a light on the relevant rear mirror, then sound an alarm and ultimately will apply the brakes to assist steering you away from danger. BCA-R also includes parallel exit, reducing the chance of an accident while pulling out of parking spots by automatically applying the brakes if it spots another vehicle approaching.

This safety system uses windshield-mounted camera to detect and monitor vehicles and pedestrians in front of the car. If the system thinks a collision is likely, it sounds a warning chime and displays a visual alert. It can also automatically apply the vehicle’s brakes if there’s a chance of a collision.

This safety feature uses the windshield mounted camera to detect lane markings and road edges to monitor the i30 Sedan N’s position in the lane. Should the vehicle stray from the intended lane without indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will be sounded and where required, steering intervention will be provided to help keep a veering vehicle in the centre of its lane.

Lane Following Assist (LFA) uses the front windshield mounted camera to detect lane markings on the road to monitor its position in a lane. If the vehicle strays from its lane without its indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will sound to alert the driver.

This safety feature analyses a driver’s on-road actions for signs of fatigue or otherwise unsafe driving. If the system senses inattentive driving patterns or frequent steering corrections, an audible sound and alert on the display panel will bring this to the driver’s attention.

The i30 Sedan N’s senses are always looking out for you. If it detects a vehicle approaching and a road-facing rear passenger opens their door, it will sound a warning chime reminding them to be careful and a warning sign will also pop up in the information cluster.

While you’re driving with your high beam headlights on, High Beam Assist is automatically scanning the road ahead. If it detects an oncoming vehicle, it will automatically dim your headlamps to low beam.

This system monitors the vehicle’s rear doors opening and closing so no one is accidentally left behind the vehicle. When the driver stops the engine and opens their door to exit, ROA will display a “Check Rear Seats” warning message in the supervision cluster.

Using the BCA system’s radar sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) monitors for traffic approaching on either side of the i30 Sedan N when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces at speeds of up to 8km/h. Should RCCA detect a vehicle approaching, an audible warning will sound, with a visual warning displayed on the dash cluster. In the case that the driver does not adhere to the warning, RCCA may use braking force and help avoid a collision with the approaching vehicle.
